What will 2025, the Lunar or Chinese New Year of the Snake bring. According to the Chinese Zodiac, the Snake is wise, charming, calm, introspective and graceful. In contrast, the popular western view of snakes is of cunning, sleek and deceitful creatures – smooth operators, not to be trusted!
Unfortunately, the latter description brings to mind some political leaders who have the ability to charm, despite being untrustworthy and self interested. However, in our presently chaotic world we sorely need leaders with the skills to find solutions to the conflicts wreaking havoc in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and to address the climate crisis.
The Chinese vision of the wise and calm Snake is optimistic, perhaps we can hope that this year will be more peaceful.
